AI Consultant — Healthcare Lead, Cross-Industry Capable | US & Canada only
AI Consultant — Healthcare Lead, Cross-Industry Capable
We are an offshore remote staffing firm serving U.S. businesses. Most new work is with physicians, group practices, and specialty clinics that want AI phone systems and other AI/automation. We also work with companies outside healthcare. We need someone who can do both.
This is a client-facing role. You own the relationship from first conversation through go-live and ongoing optimization — whether that is an AI phone system for a doctor or a practical AI project for another kind of business.
The center of the job is discovery with leadership. You sit with a doctor, practice manager, or executive team, map how the operation actually runs, and pull out the AI and automation opportunities hiding in the work — phones, scheduling, intake, follow-up, billing handoffs, reporting, and whatever else is eating staff time. You are not only installing a phone tree. You are finding the full set of wins.
You need two things most people don’t have together: the technical skill to implement (including AI voice/phone) and the people skill to earn trust on day one.
We work across time zones. Strong fit if you are based in the U.S. or Canada, or you have lived and worked in North America and can run U.S. client conversations without a learning curve.
We expect to use platforms such as Keragon and Retell for medical phone work, plus the wider AI stack for other clients. We already serve about 50 clients and are growing, so you will lead work and use a delivery team — you do not have to build every piece alone.
What you’ll do
Needs assessment (every client)
Run structured sessions with leadership and operators
Map workflows, volume, pain points, and where staff time actually goes
Name the full opportunity set — not just the first request they walked in with
Turn that into a clear plan: priority, scope, timeline, budget
Medical practices (core of the book)
Intake: call volume, staff workflows, patient-facing processes
Choose the right AI phone setup by practice size, specialty, and current systems
Design AI phone trees (scheduling, refills, after-hours, urgent triage)
Configure routing, prompts, automated responses, and escalation
Deploy: provision, test, go-live
Handle number porting, SIP, and carriers as needed
Fit real U.S. practice setups (carriers, handsets, networks, E911, call quality)
Stay the primary contact after go-live: monitor, fix, optimize, add features
All clients, including non-healthcare
Advise on AI readiness and high-impact use cases
Short orientation sessions for owners, leadership, and non-technical staff
Audit workflows and recommend automation worth doing
Simple roadmap matched to goals and budget
Recommend tools and vendors; implement or lead implementation
Track what went live and recommend the next improvement
Clear, executive-ready notes and decks
Who you are
Required
Comfortable running a needs assessment with a leadership team and turning it into a written plan
Hands-on implementation of AI phone / VoIP / cloud comms or equivalent end-to-end AI solution work — not ticket-only support
Working knowledge of SIP, VoIP, IVR/phone trees, routing, porting, carriers — or able to get fully current fast
3+ years in AI, ML, data science, automation, or closely related work
Client-facing consulting or advisory experience
Can explain AI to a doctor or a CFO without jargon
Remote, independent, U.S. client hours
Can own the client and direct a small delivery team
Strong advantage
U.S. medical or healthcare clients
AI voice agents, conversational AI, LLM phone tools; Keragon, Retell, or similar
OpenAI, AWS / Google / Azure AI, Hugging Face
Operations or process consulting
Account management or client success plus implementation
International/offshore VoIP and cross-border call setup
Legacy PBX / landline porting
What this role is not
Not a salesperson who disappears after the intro. Not a support tech who only works tickets. Not a project manager who has never implemented anything. You will have a team as we grow. You still have to understand the work well enough to lead it, check it, and talk to the client about it.
Success
Skeptical U.S. doctors and other clients go live. Phones and workflows get easier. Staff spend less time on hold and busywork. Patients and customers get faster answers. Leadership can see the next opportunities — and they refer colleagues.
