We are looking for a AG Territory Manager - Calgary (High River - Crossfield) Field to join our Agricultural Solutions team in Southern Alberta.

We are looking for a Territory Manager to develop, cultivate, and maintain business relationships with assigned retail and grower customers within a set geography and is expected to drive continued sales growth with these customers. The Territory Manager will prioritize time and resources with customers identified in high-opportunity segments.

  • Creating and executing annual and strategic territory plans that align with national and regional business objectives, while ensuring integration with marketing and customization for accurate forecasting.
  • Developing account plans for strategic customers, including short- and long-term action plans to respond to market dynamics and ensure profitability.
  • Managing relationships and resources by creating demand with growers and retailers as part of the territory plan, ensuring retailer demand creation aligns with account team activities and measuring customer satisfaction through feedback surveys.
  • Identifying, negotiating, and closing sales opportunities with target customers for our portfolio.
  • Determining when and how to use internal or external technical resources, partnering with Technical Services Representatives to educate retailers and growers on BASF innovations for new business opportunities.
  • Aligning broader teams on strategic messaging and positioning and providing market intelligence to BASF’s Marketing team regarding industries, competitors, and customers.
  • Participating in local and regional teams to meet customer needs and coaching and developing these skills in others through mentoring.

If you have...


  • A Bachelor's degree or diploma with a concentration in agronomy, chemistry, biology, business, agribusiness or related field.
  • A minimum of 1.5 years’ experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 3.5 years’ experience with an Associates Degree/2 year Diploma.
  • Professional experience in sales, or a technical background within an agricultural-related field.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills combined with a passion for making a positive difference in the agriculture industry.
  • Proven ability to develop and cultivate meaningful relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain or obtain CCSC designation within the first year of employment.
  • Strong business acumen and technical proficiency, including working experience with Microsoft Office Suite & CRM.
  • Ability to work independently to create a territory plan that is aligned with the national and regional objectives.
  • Ability to self-manage time and resources and to allocate time and energy appropriately, resulting in achievement of goals.
