Duties

  • Safely operate a 5-ton truck to transport freight within Calgary city limits, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
  • Load and unload freight using forklift equipment when necessary, ensuring proper handling and secure placement
  • Conduct routine inspections of the truck before and after shifts, including checks on brakes, lights, tires, and fluid levels
  • Assist with freight management by verifying shipment details, documenting deliveries, and maintaining accurate logs
  • Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts to load or unload cargo efficiently and safely
  • Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting minor mechanical issues to keep trucks in optimal condition
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch and warehouse teams to coordinate deliveries and pickups promptly

Experience

  • Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) suitable for operating a 5-ton truck within city limits
  • Proven experience in commercial driving and freight delivery in an urban environment
  • Hands-on experience with forklift operation and heavy equipment handling
  • Knowledge of automotive repair basics for troubleshooting minor vehicle issues
  • Familiarity with safety protocols related to heavy vehicle operation and freight handling
  • Ability to navigate Calgary’s streets confidently while maintaining punctuality and professionalism
